The use of light aircraft is an effective and sustainable way to cover long distances across vast landscapes, especially where ground access is limited. The bird’s-eye view provides excellent visibility over the terrain, a longer line of sight and a wider area of observation.
These advantages enable quick response and disruption of poaching activities; and allow early detection of uncontrolled veld fires among other benefits. Aerial support also plays a vital role in data collection (e.g. game counts) and monitoring of wildlife in general.
